About Ocala Garage Door Co

The Areas We Cover

We run out of 4901 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470, and most of our calls stay within a short drive of that address. Silver Springs is about 6 miles out, Silver Springs Shores around 9, Belleview roughly 10, and the Fort King District sits just 4 miles east of us. We'll also take calls from Reddick (14 miles), Rolling Hills (12 miles WSW), and Dunnellon (18 miles), though those trips get scheduled around closer jobs.

This part of Marion County isn't one uniform neighborhood - it's five or so distinct pockets of housing, mostly built through the 1980s and into the mid-90s, with a median build year of 1983. That matters more than it sounds like it should. A door installed when a house went up in 1983 is on hardware that predates a lot of what's stocked new today, so knowing the housing stock in each area helps us bring the right parts on the truck the first time instead of the second.

We don't cover the whole state, and we're upfront about that. If a job is well outside this radius, we'll say so rather than take the call and show up late.

The Work We Take On

Most of what comes through the door - literally - is torsion spring failure, opener trouble, and track or roller wear on doors that are 25 to 40 years old, which lines up with the 1982-1994 construction window that covers most of the houses out here. That generation of door often has original hardware nobody stocks new anymore, so a repair sometimes means sourcing or adapting rather than a straight swap.

We handle broken springs, cable replacement, bent track, worn rollers, opener repair and replacement, and panel damage from a backed-into door or storm debris. Ocala's mild temperate climate means we're not fighting the freeze-thaw damage that wrecks doors up north, but humidity and UV still take a toll on weatherstripping, seals, and painted panel finishes over three or four decades.

What we don't do: we won't sell you a full replacement door when a $40 part fixes the problem, and we won't tell you a 30-year-old steel door with rusted-through bottom panels is worth patching when it isn't. Sometimes the honest answer is that replacement costs less over time than another repair. We'll give you that answer even when it's not the bigger invoice.

Who Turns Up

Whoever answers your call at (352) 577-7991 is going to ask about the age of your house and the symptoms of the door, because in an area with 9,371 owner-occupied houses built mostly in one 12-year stretch, the failure patterns repeat - it's rarely a mystery, just a matter of which part on a familiar system gave out.

With a median household income of $44,479 across the service area, we know most repair budgets aren't unlimited, which is part of why we'd rather fix the spring than sell a door. We show up with the common parts for the housing stock we actually work on, not a generic van inventory built for newer construction that doesn't match what's on most streets here.

We're a garage door repair company, not a general contractor and not a security or smart-home installer - if your job involves rewiring a house or reframing an opening, that's outside what we take on, and we'll tell you that up front instead of after the estimate.

Frequently asked questions

How far out from Ocala will you drive for a repair?

We regularly cover Silver Springs, Silver Springs Shores, Belleview, the Fort King District, Reddick, Rolling Hills, and Dunnellon - roughly a 4 to 18 mile radius from our address on E Silver Springs Blvd. Jobs further out get scheduled around closer calls, so ask when you book.

My house was built in the early 80s - is that a problem for parts?

Not usually, but it does change what we bring. A lot of the housing stock here dates to 1982-1994, and doors from that window often run original torsion hardware that isn't on the shelf at every supply house. We plan the truck stock around that, and if a part needs sourcing we'll tell you the lead time up front.

Do you replace doors or just repair them?

Both, depending on what actually makes sense. If a spring, cable, or opener fix solves the problem, we do that instead of pushing a new door. If the panels are rusted through or the door is beyond a reasonable repair, we'll say so plainly rather than patch something that'll fail again in a few months.
